Venue Info

Red Silk by Laura Mangen

The Blue Room Theatre is Perth’s best independent live theatre venue. Housed in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre. Our 1896 heritage listed building features two intimate performance venues.  Our venues are primarily used by independent companies chosen to present in our three seasons year round. If you would like to apply for a season click here. If you would like to enquire about hiring one of our theatres contact info@blueroom.org.au.

THE BLUE ROOM THEATRE MAIN SPACE

Our Main Space, the larger of our two performances spaces – housed in what was once the science laboratory of the Perth Central School – is an intimate 73-seater, which means EVERY seat is the best in the house.

It is 75 square metres with a wooden floor, limited natural light, reverse cycle air conditioning, and it seats up to 73, subject to availability.

The entry statement to the performance space is an extraordinary floor to ceiling mural painting by internationally recognised artist Tom Alberts, listed as a significant artwork by the Art Gallery of WA.
