Complex. Rich. Compassionate.
What kinds of works are you most drawn to?
Works that help us understand people we may not instinctively like by letting characters reveal themselves to us. Works that let you inside another person’s world or worldview. Works that give your empathy muscles a workout.
What was the last show you saw?
The Eisteddfod. There was something very compassionate about Jeffrey Jay Fowler’s direction of it. The production refused to judge and invited me to feel.
What’s the most rewarding thing about what you do?
Getting to understand people better by regularly taking on the voice and perspective of others.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to get into theatre?
Get into it for however long you wish. You won’t ever regret it.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Get into it.
If you had to be an animal for one day, what would you be? Why?
A dog. I want to know what love is.
