A journey into the heartland.
“Every time I leave I swear I’ll never come back.
The last time I said it I almost believed it.”
We wouldn’t be who we are if it wasn’t for where we’ve been – whether we like it or not. So it is for the people of Alone Outside, grappling with the various definitions of what a “home” is, or can be. These strange things that welcome us with open arms, or keep us at arm’s length. Some have walls and some have heartbeats.
Daphne’s left both kinds of homes many times and she’s starting to wonder if that’s the easy part. The trick is getting them to leave her – if that’s even what she wants.
Written by Liz Newell, directed by Bridget Le May and performed by Jo Morris, Alone Outside is for anyone who’s ever hated being homesick.
