Alex Manfrin, creator of hilarious characters including John How-Odd and Phoney Abbott, has joined with award-winning writer Anna Bennetts to create this darkly comic double bill.
Les:( Miserable tries to get out of his flat but is trapped by the ‘black dog’, a mysterious woman in black. Les and Blackdog argue their different perspectives on Les’s life: Is Les wasting his days in his flat because of depression, or has Blackdog appeared because he’s wasting his days in his flat? It seems she has all the answers, but will Les find a glimmer of hope before the red door is painted black?
Delusion of Doubt is part physical theatre, part theatre of the absurd, and is a surreal journey into the shadows of the mind. David suffers from OCD, a spiky grotesque monster that shadows him, taunting his every move. In desperation, David succumbs to the Emotional Freedom Technique suggested by his psychiatrist, Dr Simms, and the results are wickedly unexpected.
Never Mind the Monsters is a unique and thought-provoking double bill, which explores the poorly understood realm of mental illness. It will make you laugh while exploring the notions of sanity…and insanity.
