Sweat and sinew, strength and danger
How do you keep stable and steady when you defy death for a living? For decades Ross Vegas has pounded the pavements of the world, from the cobbled squares of old Europe, to the arid frontiers of remote Australia, surviving on nothing but a frayed wit and a battered suitcase of circus props.
These are the tales of the road less travelled, a portrait of the clown in crisis, told through circus, spoken word, and hip-hop.
Handstands on an escalating stack of folding chairs literally heighten the tension as his world collapses around him. A stilt-walker dances, towers, and teeters over the audience as he recounts the time he unwittingly assaulted an elderly lady in front of a country-fair crowd. A crystal ball gracefully floats around the performer’s body amid a cloud of bubbles, illustrating his reflections on the fragile, transient experience of love.
This is high-impact circus storytelling that will make you laugh and hit you hard.
