See magic through kids’ eyes
Magic has the ability to bemuse and amaze but the older we get the more we choose to not allow ourselves to be sucked in. Nothing will ever be quite as impressive as the first time someone pulls a coin from your ear.
After watching a video of a man performing magic tricks to dogs, magician Matt Penny was struck with a revelation: You know who else reacts well to magic? Kids.
Magician Matt Penny has teamed up with Margaret River-based photographer Mac Rovik to produce a stunning set of photographs that capture the wonder of a child seeing a magic trick.
After an initial run with 11 kids (the photographs from this are being exhibited in The Blue Room Theatre’s hallway), Matt and Mac now invite 50 children to experience magic as their reactions are captured in one special event. These photographs will then form an exhibition that will appear on the Perth Cultural Centre screen during FRINGE WORLD.
Each child will receive one hard copy of a photograph taken on the day as well as an invitation to see a special screening of the exhibit on the Perth Cultural Centre Screen.
All photographs will be taken on Monday 23 January, with session times between 10am – 3.30pm. Please note, there will be ten children photographed per hour, so you need to be available for the duration of the session.
All session are now fully booked.
