Did you know that in addition to one-off workshops and Q&A’s, The Blue Room Theatre hosts a series of Professional Development opportunities throughout the year including Good Play Club, Critical Conversation and Play Group? Read on to find out more.
Good Play Club is a joint initiative from The Blue Room Theatre and Black Swan State Theatre Company that invites the theatre makers of Perth to come together and stand on the shoulders of giants. Each month a different play is read at an informal gathering, followed by a guided conversation led by Black Swan Associate Director Jeffrey Jay Fowler and an invited guest artist. You can read all about it here.
Critical Conversation is a free bi-monthly event that encourages critical discussion about work being made and presented in Perth. Every second month, a panel of artists, arts workers, producers and critics engage in a facilitated conversation in front of an audience about work that has been presented in Perth in the preceding weeks. Find out more here.
Playgroup is an opportunity for exposure, networking, feedback and collaboration in a playful school environment. Presented in partnership with The Cutting Room Floor, Playgroup is an opportunity for artists to road-test and gain feedback on their projects and ideas and attendees to get an insight into some of the brightest young minds in Perth theatre. Keep your eyes peeled for information on the second installment of Playgroup in late 2017.
