The season of FRINGE WORLD will soon be upon us, and we’re on the hunt for some lovely people to join our Summer Nights Volunteer Team in 2017.
Summer Nights runs from Friday 20 January – Saturday 18 February 2017, and expressions of interest are now open for those who would like to volunteer. We’d love to engage both our regular season and past Summer Nights vollies, along with some new faces; so whatever your experience is with us, please feel free to get in touch.
There are many perks to being a Summer Nights Volunteer – you get to watch at least one show for free per shift AND you get a Summer Nights season pass which entitles you to free entry to all Summer Nights shows, pending ticket availability. How delightful.
Volunteering at Summer Nights doesn’t just involve ushering for a show or two. During your shift you may also be required to spruik shows, provide patrons with information, collect slap bands and tidy venues between performances. We request that our volunteers do a minimum of two shifts per week, ranging from 3-5 hours.
If all of this floats your boat and you’d like to get involved, please fill in this expression of interest form by Friday 2 December. The form includes a section for you to indicate your general availability during Summer Nights. If you end up joining the Volunteer team, we’ll ask for more specific information regarding the dates and times you’re available. This will allow us to get our schedule together and out to the vollie team in early January 2017 (two to three weeks before it all kicks off), leaving you enough time to plan the rest of your Fringe binge.
Our Summer Nights Volunteer team is selected based on a mixture of experience, fit and availability. Each year we get more interest than spots available, so be sure to send in your expression of interest by Monday 28 November to give yourself the best chance at joining the 2017 team.
If you have any questions about our volunteer team, please contact Associate Producer Harriet at harriet[at]blueroom.org.au, or call 08 9227 7005.
