It’s that time of year again, when we start living all things Summer Nights 2016! We have a really great program lined up for 2016, with some new and familiar artists from just around the corner, and others joining us from all over the world.
We are currently inviting people to register their interest in joining the 2016 Summer Nights Volunteer Team. We’d love to have both regular volunteers, past Summer Nights volunteers and new faces on board, so whatever your Blue Room Theatre experience is, feel free to get in touch. Summer Nights runs from Friday 22 January – Saturday 20 February 2016.
Volunteering at Summer Nights is a little bit different to a regular season show. Depending on your shift, responsibilities may include spruiking shows, ushering people into and out of venues (including The Blue Room Theatre and PICA Performance Space) and non-traditional performance spaces, tidying, collecting slap bands and providing information to patrons. You’ll get to watch at least one show for free during each shift.
To say thanks for helping us out, we will give you a Summer Nights pass which entitles you to free entry to all Summer Nights shows, pending ticket availability.
We do require Summer Nights volunteers to do a minimum of two shifts per week, with shifts ranging from 3 – 5 hours. There is an option on the form to indicate your general availability. If you are selected to be part of the Volunteer Team, we will ask for more detail about the days and times you will be available so we can put together a shiny Summer Nights roster.
If you would like to get involved, please complete our expression of interest form by Monday 7 December. We will send out an availability check shortly thereafter, and a roster in early January (about two weeks before Fringe World kicks off). The Summer Nights Volunteer Team is selected based on a mixture of experience, fit and availability. Each year we have more interest than we can accommodate, so be sure to complete your form before Monday 7 December to give yourself the best chance of joining the 2016 team.
