NAME: Alice Mary Cooper // ROLE: Performer // SHOW: Blue Cow
What item can’t you live without in the rehearsal room?
A kettle to make something hot (I am usually rehearsing in Scotland where it’s often a bit chilly).
What’s the best performance you’ve ever seen?
That’s tricky… can I choose three? When I was quite young I was lucky enough to be taken to see Marcel Marceau and in the same year, Slava’s Snow Show – both have stayed with me. More recently I loved Scottish writer Steph Smith’s Swallow at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe.
What was the first ever performance you were in?
I was a gumnut baby in a ballet concert when I was about four. My mum designed and made fabulous costumes for the whole class! Prior to that I’d made up shows with my friends and siblings at home, but this was my first public performance.
Why do you do what you do?
Sometimes I ask myself the same question! At the most basic level, I can’t imagine not doing it and it makes me feel like me.
What’s your favourite thing about summer?
Swimming in the sea.
What show/s are you looking forward to during Summer Nights or Fringe World?
I’m a big fan of a yurt, so I’m very drawn Grr Nights.
Blue Cow is presented by The Blue Room Theatre Summer Nights, as part of FRINGE WORLD 2016.
