Perth Festival inspired Iain Grandage to delve into the performing arts when he first experienced it in the 1990’s. Now, he has been appointed as the festival’s Artistic Director from 2020 – 2023. Growing up in Perth and continually reconnecting with it, Iain has forged a stellar career as a cellist, music director and composer in landmark works of opera, cabaret, musical theatre and beyond. He has won seven Helpmann Awards for music composition for theatre and his credits include the seminal Western Australian works Corrugation Road and Cloudstreet.
Join us for a facilitated conversation with Iain exploring this long creative connection with Western Australia, his new role at the helm of Australia’s oldest major arts festival and his appearances on stage at The Blue Room Theatre.
This session is free, but RSVP is essential via the form below.
