Delectable dance-theatre
Four women dance circles around a cake, bringing an enticing blend of dance, raw movement, and theatre to explore ambivalence.
Chocolate cake evokes pleasure and guilt, gluttony and moderation, indulgence and abstinence as its layers blend and melt into each other. The conflict between unconscious desires and the rational mind unfolds, and even the most loving actions become tentative.
Created by Montserrat Heras (Together We Unravel, Incy Wincy), and performed and devised with Kimberley Parkin (Cry Baby), Rhiana Katz (Room 207 at SITU-8: Hotel), and Elsa Bignell (Together We Unravel). With sound by Peter McAvan (Symbiosis) and lighting by Peter Young (Cry Baby). Artistically advised by Bronwen Carson (ACCORD(ing)).
