Only the faithful remain
In the heart of the Vatican, the doors close. The world holds its breath as the conclave begins: a centuries-old ritual of smoke, secrecy, and power. But something is different this time. An outsider watches, recording every glance, gesture, and unspoken alliance. Ritual collides with play as cardinals turn to games of chance, skill, and absurdity in their fight for the throne. Satirical, irreverent, and deeply human, The Chair of Saint Peter (& Other Games) reimagines the papal conclave as a surreal contest of faith and folly. This world premiere by WA’s next generation of theatre-makers blends spectacle, satire, and comedy to question why we follow and who we let lead. Presented as part of The Blue Room Theatre’s Summer Nights 2026.
