Between life, love, and death
The Future Softly is a new contemporary dance solo created and performed by Jo Omodei, premiering at The Blue Room Theatre as part of FRINGE WORLD Perth 2026. Developed from early iterations with Enneagon Movement’s 2024 PILOT Season and further researched through Makeshift Evening performances, the work sits in dialogue with Omodei’s duet As the Edges Soften, speaking to notions of time, space, connection and relationships.
The work is grounded in a structured improvisation score informed by recent overseas training in David Zambrano’s Improvisation on Stage workshop in Brussels, Belgium, which focused on developing tools for real-time choreography. This improvised dance solo explores life, love, and death through movement, blending delicate gestures and powerful phrases. Experience a poetic journey of presence, connection, and transformation.
