Championing the voices of young Western Australians

Made in Boorloo is a double bill of one act plays, written and performed by WA Youth Theatre Company members aged 11-26. The Boorloo-based young theatre makers have worked side-by-side with professional creatives to bring their ideas to life. Expect fresh takes, boundless enthusiasm and a commitment to telling stories about what matters to young people today.

This year the double header features Joan of Armadale by Arthur Brown, and Wet Season by Iris Warren.

Joan of Armadale by Arthur Brown is about a student who protests climate inaction in Boorloo by channeling the power of the first ever teenage activist: Joan of Arc.

Wet Season by Iris Warren follows three students trapped by a cyclone warning in detention in far north WA. They’re forced to confront the unspoken difficulties of navigating adolescence in rural Australia.

Q&A Friday 18th Sept

Join the Made in Boorloo Writers, Cast and Creatives for a post-show Q&A session hosted by WAYTCo Artistic Director Amelia Burke. The Q&A will take place immediately after the show, and last approximately 30 minutes. For ticket holders only.
