Championing the voices of young Western Australians.

Fresh off the high-octane production line of WAYTCO’s wildly popular 24Hr Play Generator, two playwrights have developed their writing from time-crunched 10-minute plays to one-act-length works. What a difference a few more days makes!

This double header features Fallen Star by Laura Goodlet, the story of five campers on school holidays at Lake Douglas. It’s 2010, it’s Kalgoorlie and a star has just fallen to earth. In the second bill The Project by Manuela Coentro De Souza, a fateful group assignment presents a moral challenge: how do you stand up for what’s right even if it means upsetting your friends?

The Boorloo-based young writers behind these plays have work side-by-side with local professional directors, dramaturgs and WAYTCo member performers to bring their ideas to life. Expect fresh takes, variety, and a commitment to telling stories about what matters to young people today.

Made In Boorloo – Meet The Writers [25 Oct]

Join the writers on Friday 25 October for a post-show Q&A hosted by WAYTCo Artistic Director Amelia Burke, kicking off around 8:00pm. Ticket-holders only.
