Brazil beyond carnaval

Brazil is a vast country; it cannot be captured on a single stage. The Spirit of Brazil – Dance & Culture pays tribute to the North and Northeast, honouring their deep roots, traditions and cultural resilience. To represent these regions, the production highlights six states – Amazonas, Pará, Maranhão, Bahia, Pernambuco and Paraíba. Through dance and traditional costumes, the stage becomes a canvas of cultures shaped by Indigenous, African and European heritage. Audiences will encounter the vibrancy of traditions from the ‘Bumbódromo’ in Amazonas to a grand finale in Paraíba, home to Brazil’s second largest festival. Performed by a dedicated ensemble of dancers, the show represents these cultures with respect for the beauty of their traditions. More than entertainment, it is a celebration of ancestry, resilience and joy.
