Here at The Blue Room Theatre we are collating a variety of useful resources in relation to Covid-19 and its impact on the arts. This ranges from the latest news to useful guides relating to Services Australia (Centrelink).
While the pandemic is ongoing, we will continue to update this page with more resources for the community.

Australia Council
The national funding body for the arts, this page is updated regularly with Covid-19 announcements via links that take you to PDFs. It also includes Australia Council’s response to Covid-19 with information on their response pack.
Western Australian Government
The WA Government’s resources on Covid-19. There are a variety of sections here that include latest news, community advice, business and industry advice, and FAQs.
Live Performance Australia
Live Performance Australia’s media releases that relate to Covid-19. These contain advice and reporting on the situation in the arts. These are updated with a new release every 1-2 days.
Applying for Services Australia (Centrelink) Guide
An easy-to-follow, step-by-step approach to applying for Jobseeker Payment (formerly Newstart) as written by the ABC. Good for anyone who has lost their job, is an artist, or is a freelancer who has lost work.
MEAA
Similar to the LPA, MEAA (Media Entertainment Arts Alliance) has a variety of articles related to Covid-19. There’s information on accessing Centrelink, your rights at work, and more. The MEAA is a union for people working across the arts, entertainment, sport, outdoor, music, and events industries. They advocate, provide assistance, and discounts for their members.
ArtsHub
ArtsHub’s comprehensive news reporting on the Covid-19 situation and how it relates to the arts industry in Australia. This is usually updated several times daily.
A lot of theatre and arts related online streaming and webinars are emerging during this period of social isolation. Here are a series of links to such activities:
The National Theatre
The National Theatre of London are streaming one show from their archives a week on YouTube. They will be streamed on Thursdays, and will be available to watch for a week after.
Theatre of Isolation
Sydney based Tooth & Sinew are facilitating networking, roundtables, play readings, and development via online software, dubbing it Theatre of Isolation. They would love to hear from artists at the moment.
Creative Connections
Creative Connections is an online webinar series for the arts and culture sector created by the Australia Council. It will offer practical, accessible and useful content delivered by industry experts on key topics and emerging themes.
