Exciting Funding News at The Blue Room Theatre!

We’re thrilled to announce that The Blue Room Theatre has secured funding from Creative Australia after losing this in 2020. This is part of the Four Year Funding Investment program for 2025-2028, a significant milestone in our strategy.

This funding supports us to enable the development of new Australian live performance artists and works. For over 30 years, we’ve been at the heart of WA’s cultural ecology, and this investment is a testament to that enduring legacy.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our dedicated staff, board, members, and volunteers. Your unwavering support has been instrumental in this achievement. Special thanks to Katt Osborne, our former Executive Director, whose tenacity and vision have been pivotal.

To our members, your loyalty and belief in our commitment to independent live performance has been our guiding spotlight. Your continued support fuels our passion and drives us forward.
As WA’s hub for independent live performance, we’re excited about the future. This funding isn’t just a win for us – it’s a win for every artist, artsworker, audience member, and supporter who believes in the power of the independent arts sector.

We also acknowledge our peers in WA and throughout Australia who missed out on this round, or lost their funding. We know too well the struggle and pressure that this places on the small – medium sector and inevitably independent artists. We hope they can sustain themselves through this hurdle and continue to grow stronger regardless.
