600 Seconds & MicroMove 2020

FRINGE WORLD 2019 is getting ready to take over Perth, and figuring out what show to see is always such a hard task with a program so dense. We know the struggle it can be to pick the right show, we asked some Arts Industry superstars to share their top picks in our Summer Nights program. Check out their hot tips below.

SCOTT ELSTERMANN, Choreographer and Dancer

MicroMove
After being a part of the inaugural dance smorgasbord that is MicroMove in 2018, I can’t wait to see what fresh new dance works pop up under the direction of Laura Boynes. A guaranteed feast for any dance or movement lover!

Silence My Ladyhead
FUGUE, led by the incredibly talented James McMillan, is on fire at the moment after their success with Arteries by Ancestry and Court My Crotch. Super excited to see what they do next with their unique and sassy perspective on hot-topic issues.

Feminah
It wouldn’t be Fringe without a bit of cabaret. After missing Charlotte Otton’s debut smash-hit show Let me finish and with a stellar production team behind her, I do not want to miss this one!

ZAINAB SYED, Associate Producer at Performing Lines WA

Blue Portal Road
Because Riptide are always bringing something fantastic to the stage.

MicroMove
Because Laura Boynes & WA dancers are #goals.

Only Bones V1.0
Because I’m a sucker for low tech shows & physical theatre.

PAUL SELWYNN NORTON, Artistic Director at STRUT Dance

Only Bones v1.0
Low-Tech V High-Moves.

MicroMove
Heaps of WA indie creativity.

600 Seconds
Low odds but high value…. At least one of the works will be a killer piece to knock your shoes and socks off!

JAY EMMANUEL, Artistic Director at St Georges’ Cathedral

Only Bones v1.0
Thom is one of the most playful performers I’ve seen on stage, and paired with Gemma Tweedie’s direction, this show will mesmerise one and all. Thoms’ face and body is like clay. Watchable, entertaining clay.

Not Romeo and Juliet
Two ridiculous clowns. They’ll take you on a grand ride of laughter and notoriety.

Silence My Ladyhead
Only Indigo Keane can do justice to this plays themes and explorations of the form. She will light up the stage and I cannot wait.
