Our Annual Season is the cornerstone of The Blue Room Theatre’s artistic program. Each year, it sees independent new works offered unparalleled support from conception to presentation in our two black box theatre spaces. Our Annual Seasons are diverse in form, content, genre, artists and practice.

We welcome applications from artists who are looking to challenge themselves and their form, explore new territory, grow their skills, diversify participation in the arts, comment on contemporary life, push boundaries and offer new experiences. Artists and companies whose work is selected to be produced during the Season are offered unparalleled support across all aspects of their production.
The Annual Season is programmed through a rotating independent panel of peer assessors chosen by The Blue Room Theatre. Peers change from season to season, and the assessors aim to curate a program of works in a way that fulfils our purpose of championing independent artists, new work, and new ways of making work in consideration of the selection criteria
