Perth Poetry Festival 2024 and The Blue Room Theatre are excited to present a poetry and performance arts fusion event with a difference—Mother Tongue!
Mother Tongue is more than just an event—it’s an exploration of the universal themes of nurture, care, and the unseen strength of mothers. Let the poetry speak, and may it resonate with you long after the evening is over.
Mother Tongue includes 2 performances:
Deconstructing a Lullaby
By SoulReserve
What is a lullaby, if not a soul-stirring melody woven from timeless myths and lore? SoulReserve presents a masterful long-form piece exploring the mother-child bond. Woven with lullabies from around the world and verses in multiple languages, her work delves into the soothing essence of lullabies, uncovering their comforting nature and the myths that envelop them. This meticulously crafted piece is an all-encompassing, hypnotic poetic experience that will lull you to sleep and/or awaken your senses.
