Discussion of Israeli occupation, genocide and displacement of Palestinian people
Palestinian tatreez is a 4000 year old folk-art, known for its intricacy and use to communicate stories. Motifs are chosen by the embroiderer, and may reflect environmental, contextual or political circumstances faced. It can tell stories from weddings to war, and has remained a rich testimony of Palestinian history and identity. In this workshop, we remove colonially placed borders to create a piece you can take home.
Each ticket comes with a complete tatreez kit that you can keep, and light refreshments and tea are provided.
You don’t have to be Palestinian to enjoy tatreez! You just have to come with a willingness to learn, and a respect for our struggle and identity.
25% of profits go towards a Palestinian charity, 75% to residency team.
