The Theatre Salon is a relaxed, informal monthly discussion of the complex & pressing issues facing the world of theatre and performance.
Hosted by the prolific and much loved Perth performer Humphrey Bower, and Executive Director of The Blue Room Theatre Sukhjit Kaur Khalsa OAM. The Salon will tackle contentious topics while making space for nuance and respectful debate. Grab a Monday night drink, lounge in our bar, and join the conversation.
Our first salon for the year 2025 is on Monday 28 April and the theme is What is a Festival, Why is a Festival?
A look into the popular model of programming, it’s growing position within the sector, the positive, the negatives, the limitations, the possibilities, and the future of funding and presenting opportunities.
