New Employment Opportunities at The Blue Room Theatre

As part of The Blue Room Theatre’s continued commitment to supporting artists and ensuring the organisation’s long-term sustainability, the Board and Executive Director are today announcing today two new opportunities for talented individuals to join our core team.

We are looking for a highly organised and systems orientated individual for the newly created senior management position of Operations Manager, and for a motivated and inclusivity-minded person for the part-time position of Communications & Engagement Coordinator.

These positions are part of a series of changes by The Blue Room Theatre – including a staffing restructure – which are aimed at building organisational resilience and seizing new opportunities for our artists and community. These changes will help us be more flexible and responsive to the changing circumstances of our world, will support the development of new revenue streams in a volatile funding climate, and deepen our connection with our audience and community.

We know that change can be hard. The Board and Executive Director want our members and community to know that despite the short-term disruption that our restructure will bring, that these changes are needed to live up to our core purpose – supporting independent artists to the very best of our ability. Despite this year’s challenges, we’re confident about the way forward and are excited about The Blue Room Theatre’s bright future.

We can’t wait to receive applications from people who want to join our team and be part of The Blue Room Theatre’s next chapter.

Applications will close at 12pm on Tuesday 17th November for both positions.

We strongly encourage applicants from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people living with a disability, and people who identity as LGBTQI. We encourage our members to share these opportunities widely.

Thank you for your ongoing support – it means so much. We look forward to welcoming you back to the theatre from this week, with our first shows returning since our venue closed its doors in March.
