Support our Equity & Justice Program
Over the last eight years our donors made a crucial difference to The Blue Room Theatre by supporting new artistic opportunities, significant infrastructure projects and helping to maintain key programs throughout the pandemic.
In 2023, we need support to deliver our first ever new program of artistic and engagement activities to further equity and inclusion for artists from underrepresented backgrounds at The Blue Room Theatre. Our aim over the next three years is for this program to become a sustainable core part of The Blue Room’s artistic program alongside the Annual Season and Summer Nights.
We’re aiming to raise a minimum of $30,000 by the end of the financial year, to make this pilot program possible.
We are excited to announce that every dollar you donate up to $20,000, will matched by our generous major donors, Ian and Jill Green. $1 becomes $2, $50 becomes $100, $500 becomes $1,000.
- An Artistic Residency for First Nations artists (space and funds for new works in development)
- A ‘Behind the Scenes’ program for young people from migrant/refugee backgrounds (workshops and engagement with Annual Season artists and works in 2023)
- A ‘Young Makers’ program for emerging artists (workshops and engagement with Summer Nights artists and works in 2024)
Please support us with a tax-deductible donation this end of financial year.
You can also call the office on (08) 9227 7005 or email email@example.com if you would like to speak further about your donation.
The Blue Room Theatre has DGR1 status and all donations over $2 tax deductible.
We provide professional development that underpins the growth of theatre in Western Australia and the careers of numerous individuals. Here’s what artists have to say about the work we do.
“There is nowhere quite like The Blue Room Theatre and I sing its praises wherever I go.”
– Tim Watts
“First you get the money, then you get the power. But before either of those, you get The Blue Room Theatre season. At least that’s how it was for me.”
– Claire Hooper
